Brad is the Manager of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) General Aviation and Commercial Division, where he and his staff are charged with developing and maintaining regulations and policies regarding pilot training, certification, and operating rules governing general aviation. This wide-ranging portfolio includes the operational environment for everything from drones to commercial space as well as airplanes, rotorcraft, powered-lift, gliders, lighter than air, powered parachutes, and weight shift control aircraft. He and his staff are also charged with promoting aviation safety, ensuring consistency of regulatory enforcements within the general aviation community, and applying environmental policy across Flight Standards. The Division has staff in 35 states across the country ranging five time zones.
He is an active general aviation pilot and a flight instructor and holds an airline transport pilot certificate (multi-engine) with multiple type ratings.
